Caribbean Community Theatre follows its recent production of Dolly Parton’s musical comedy 9 to 5 with another light-hearted offering: Rumors, by one of Broadway’s best known comic playwrights, Neil Simon. There will be seven performances over three weekends: Fridays and Saturdays, March 25-26, April 1-2 and April 8-9 at 8 PM, and a matinee on Sunday, April 3 at 4 PM.

Rumors is set in a large townhouse, where four couples are about to experience a severe attack of farce. They arrive for their friends’ tenth wedding anniversary, only to discover the host lies unconscious and unresponsive in his bedroom and his wife is nowhere to be found.  The first guests to arrive must get “the story straight” before the other guests show up. As the confusion and miscommunications mount, the evening spins off into classic farcical hilarity. “Light, frothy and fun.” – New York Post. “Neil Simon makes people laugh a lot!” – USA Today.

Michael Baker directs the comedically talented cast:  Anthony Cavico, Richard Clark, Davina England, Alexandria Ham, Wendy Keeler Adams, Paul Knipler, Heather McRae, Tyler Olson, Estelle Sanchez, and Marie Elise Witmer.

All performances of Rumors will be held at the Caribbean Community Theatre at #18 Estate Orange Grove in Christiansted, St. Croix. Tickets are sold in advance online at www.cct.vi, or at the box office at CCT prior to each performance:  $20 for adults; $18 for senior citizens (age 65+); $15 for college students with ID; and $10 for children/students under age 18. Not recommended for children under age 16.  Box office opens for ticket sales at 7:15 PM on show nights, and at 3:15 PM for the Sunday matinee; arrive early for best seating.

Rumors is jointly supported by a grant from the Virgin Islands Council on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts in Washington, DC, and co-sponsored by Christiansted Apothecary Hall, JKC Communications of the VI, Owen and Carol Johnson, Pauline Price, and Seascape Pool Center, Inc.
