The Revolutionists – Dramatic Comedy at CC
There are only six chances to see The Revolutionists by Lauren Gunderson. Show dates are May 6-7, 13-14, 2022, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 PM, and two matinee performances at 4 PM on Sunday, May 8 & 15, 2022
Denise Blanchette and Malerie Gleason direct the cast of this dramatic comedy: Clara Killy, Heather McRae, Ann Cecile O’Neill, and Maddie Wilson. This play tells the story of four beautiful, badass women who lose their heads in this irreverent comedy set during the French Revolution’s Reign of Terror. Playwright Olympe de Gouges, assassin Charlotte Corday, former queen (and fan of ribbons) Marie Antoinette, and Haitian rebel Marianne Angelle hang out, chat, and try to beat back the extremist insanity in 1793 Paris. This dream-tweaked comedy is about violence, legacy, art, activism, feminism, terrorism, compatriots, chosen sisters, and changing the world. It’s a true story or total fiction or a play about a play or a raucous resurrection…that ends in a song and a scaffold
Tickets are $20 for adults, with discounts for seniors, students and CCT members, and may be purchased (for cash only) at the CCT box office prior to each show, which opens 45 minutes before curtain.
