CCT presents Romantic Fools, an evening of comedic short adult plays written by Rich Orloff. There will be a total of seven performances over three weekends: March 22-23, 29-30, and April 5-6, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 PM, and one Sunday matinée on April 7 at 4 PM.
Romantic Fools is a collection of two-character sketches examining love, lust, dating and romance. Journey with Andrew and Lori on the quest to find “the one” through a series of horrible dates, the rocky road that may follow the attraction of opposites … the little things that can ruin a romantic dinner for two, the perils of a surprise proposal, and the daunting task of actually making it down the aisle. Showing the influences of Monty Python, Saturday Night Live, Jules Feiffer, the Marx Brothers, and classic vaudeville comedy, these sketches vary widely in style, but they all celebrate the inherent farce of male-female relationships.
Romantic Fools is directed by Katrina Seay. Cast members include Michael Armendariz, Michael Baker, Ryan Burton, Tony Emanuel, Nicole Gariepy, Becca Mendelson, Jason Seay, Dawn Sparks and Marlene Whitney.
Romantic Fools is sponsored by Capital Mortgage Services of Texas, Christiansted Apothecary Hall, Clinical Laboratory, Inc., and JKC Communications of the VI, Seascape Pool Center, Inc., Tutto Bene Restaurant, and is jointly supported by a grant from the Virgin Islands Council on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts in Washington, DC.
