Anne Lorraine Durand died suddenly and unexpectedly at her home on St. Croix, July 4, 2017. Mourning her death are her devoted husband Elliott (Tucker) Durand, her mother Ethel (Becky) Gent, her sisters Wendy and Barbara MacLellan, Heather Ring and Janet MacLellan Winship, brothers-in-laws David Ring and Geoffrey MacLellan Winship and nieces Rachael, Morgan and Bronwyn Ring. Lorraine was predeceased by her father Donald Francis MacLellan and her sister Frances Bruce.
Lorraine was born in Montreal, Canada and was a graduate of St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia. She was the eldest daughter of six sisters and was a role model and inspiration to all who met her. She was a voracious reader, a gifted musician, an accomplished actor, and a tireless worker and colleague. She met Tucker in 1981 and they moved to St. Croix in 1986. Lorraine touched everyone who knew her, whether at her place of employment, Nichols, Newman, Logan, Grey and Lockwood, or at the Caribbean Community Theatre, where she pursued her passion. We miss her and will find the void within us difficult to fill.
A Celebration of Lorraine’s Life will be held on July 30, 2017 at 3:00 PM at the Caribbean Community Theatre, #18 Estate Orange Grove, Christiansted, St. Croix. Please wear festive colors in honor of Lorraine. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CCT, PO Box 25793, Christiansted, VI 00824.
