Don’t miss Caribbean Community Theatre’s production of ‘ART’ – the award-winning comedy by French playwright Yasmina Reza; translated by Christopher Hampton. There will be seven performances of this play on Friday and Saturday evenings, March 20-21, 27-28, and April 3-4, 2008 at 8 PM, as well as a Sunday matinee on March 29th at 4 PM. ‘ART’ is directed by Tom Ziegler, and stars Charles Braslow, Fred Handleman and Bruce Spector.
The play explores the friendship of three guys who really shouldn’t be friends. Serge is pompous. Ivan is nuts. Marc is a volcano of aggression… But these men are friends, for reasons that are ambiguous, like the whitish lines on the all-white painting that sends them over the brink. What if one of your best friends just bought a very expensive painting that’s all white with white diagonal lines? How much would you pay for a white painting? Would it matter who the painter was? Would it be art?
