Cure your summertime blues with Caribbean Community Theatre’s production of SORDID LIVES — a black comedy about white trash, written by award-winner Del Shores.

There will be six evening performances of this play on Friday and Saturday, July 10-11, 17-18, and 24-25, 2009 at 8 PM, as well as a matinée on Sunday July 19th at 4 PM.

David Richards and Michael Armendariz direct the cast of SORDID LIVES: Michael Armendariz, Robin Becker, Kathy Bennett, Charles Braslow, Cindy Clearwater, Judi Fricks, Fred Handleman, Dennis Gribbin, Allan LaBerteaux, Tish Mercier, Christine Thomas and Glen Wells.

The hilarious sordid details about a Texas family surface with a vengeance when relatives converge for the funeral of Peggy, who has died after tripping over her lover’s wooden legs! Toss in a couple of feuding, big-haired daughters, a jumpy aunt who just quit smoking, the scorned neighbor from hell, and the crazy, cross-dressing “Brother Boy” and you’ve got an outrageous train wreck you can’t help but watch!

The play enjoyed a successful cult like following in California. Its popularity spawned a movie which again, became a cult hit. The movie then spawned a cable series. The play finally arrives on St. Croix!
